Namibian Film Wins at International Film Festival
A film titled “Pride of Namibia” has won the Best Short Film award at the largest film festival in the United States. The film was produced by the World Wildlife Fund and is about empowered communities and responsible tourism in Namibia. It was shown at the Wild and Scenic Festival in the United States on Monday night. A total of 4,500 films were submitted at the festival, of which 130 were official selections and the “Pride of Namibia” film came out on top in the short film category. The film was one of three screened at Monday’s special screening and it will go on a 140-city tour across the country. An estimated 30,000 people will see the film on the tour in addition to an estimated 100,000 online views to date. The film has also won first place at the inaugural short film contest Adventure in Motion with the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and Yahoo! Travel and it won silver at the World Travel Mart. This latest accolade follows a string of international awards to Namibia as a tourist destination. Read more

Climbing the Dunes of Sossusvlei
There are several massive dunes near the iconic Sossusvlei in Namibia, and hiking to the top of these dunes is a wonderful way to get amazing panoramic views of the famous vlei and its surroundings. There are no restrictions as to what dunes you can climb up, but there are trails that are more popular than others. Read more
