Visa Requirements

What must I provide to begin the visa application process?

All applicants must submit the following:

  1. A duly filled and signed application Form [PDF]>>
  2. Valid passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of entry and at least 3 or more blank pages;
  3. Two (2) colour 2 x 2 passport photograph (should be identical);
  4. Self-addressed, pre-paid envelope (should have a tracking no.) for the return of your passport;
  5. Cash, money order or certified check (personal checks will not be accepted) from the bank payable to the Embassy of Namibia in the amount of US$50.00 for a single entry visa (an additional US$50.00 will be added for multiple entries);Business letter stating nature of your visit (if applicable);
  6. Applicants must have (a) a return ticket; (b) adequate funds for the duration of their stay in Namibia; (c) proof that they will be supported by a person who is permanent resident of Namibia or is Namibian if such a case applies; (d) letter of invitation or business contacts in Namibia are required for a business visa.

Requirements for holders of Diplomatic, Official and Laisser-Passer (United Nations, World Bank and International Monetary Fund) Passports:

  1. A duly filled and signed application Form [PDF]>>
  2. Valid passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of entry and at least 3 or more blank pages;
  3. Two (2) colour 2 x 2 passport photograph (should be identical);
  4. Self-addressed, pre-paid envelope (should have a tracking no.) for the return of your passport;
  5. An official letter from the applicant’s Diplomatic Mission/Organisation. The letter should state the full identity of the visa applicant and the grounds for him/ her holding a diplomatic/ official passport (position within the diplomatic Mission or family links with an official), the full details of the travel document, and finally the purposes and dates of the stay in Namibia;

Please note:

  • Applicants are strongly encouraged to provide contact information (email or phone number) where they can be reached in the event that there is an error in your forms or if  additional documents are needed.
  • Further information may be requested depending on individual circumstances.
  • Visitors with tourist visas are not allowed to engage in any employment while in the country. Should they wish to do so, they should apply for an employment permit in their country of residence prior to entry in Namibia.
  • Health requirements: yellow fever inoculation is a requirement only if the journey to Namibia entails passing through a yellow fever area of Africa by any other means than by a scheduled air service.

Fees

  • Single entry, 3 months validity, 2 day processing - US$50.00
  • Multiple Entry, 3 months validity, 2 day processing - US$100.00
  • Next day service, Single entry, 3 months validity - US$100.00
  • Next day service, Multiple entry, 3 months validity - US$150.00

What do I do with the completed documents?

Once you have all the required documents, please place them in one envelope and mail them to the following address:

How long does it take?

All visas are issued on the day the application forms are received and will be valid for 3 months. Incomplete forms and requirements may delay the process. If expedited same-day (drop off in the morning and pickup in the afternoon) processing is needed, a processing fee of US$100.00 is applied.
